23600 McKean Road
San Jose, California

The Brandenburg Historical Golf Museum opened in conjunction with Cinnabar Hills Golf Club in August, 1998. It is located at 23600 McKean Road in San Jose. Scott Hoyt is curator of the museum as well as general manager of the golf club.

Brandenburg Properties Founder lee Brandenburg, an avid golf collector, accumulated the majority o the museum pieces started in the 1960s. Looking through all the various exhibits, one learns to understand his respect and love for the game of golf.

The collection includes fully engraved, solid sterling silver and golf trophies of the four major PGA championships of golf, as well as the Ryder Cup Trophy. This is probaby the only place in the world where full-size exact replicas can be found. The four major Championship Trophies are the U.S. Open Trophy, British Open Claret Jug, Masters Trophy, and PGA Championship Trophy.

The museum includes historical photographs, a golf book collection, a golf course architecture exhibit and 16 rare replicas of pictures hanging in the Governor's Room in the Royal and Ancient Clubhouse at St. Andrews. One exhibit is devoted to the Bing Crosby National Pro-Am tournament that began in 1937 and moved to Pebble Beach in 1947.

Golfing figures from whom artifacts have been collected include Johhny Miller, Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, President Eisenhower, Chip Beck, Walter Hagen, Bobby Jones, Gene Sarazen, Sam Snead, Mac O'Grady, Ben Hogan, and Ken Venturi.
