Brandenburg Properties acquired this land in 1984 and assembled additional land in 1987 to create one of the largest single sites along the I-20 corridor in Augusta. Brandenburg then carried it through the entitlement process and sold the entitled land for commercial development in 2006. Now under construction, the 800,000-square-foot Village at River Watch will be Augusta’s first outdoor “Lifestyle Center” and include Dillard’s and Belk Department Stores, a 24-screen multiplex theater, outdoor restaurants, cafes and shops.
